In May 2011, Steve Hibberd, Troy Townsend and David Solomon (non-executive Chairman) founded Tiger Pistol with one goal in mind: to help local businesses leverage the power of social media to drive traffic to their stores. If you’re wondering what that has to do with a shrimp, well, you wouldn’t be the first. The tiny, tiger pistol shrimp is a pretty amazing creature. With its large, irregularly-shaped claw, it can make one of the loudest sounds on the planet – just as we help local businesses make a big noise in social.


Over the years, we have served thousands of businesses, tested many product iterations, price points, and service delivery models to understand how to best help local businesses take advantage of the power of Facebook and Instagram advertising. Steve Hibberd

Co-Founder & CEO

Steve is our CEO and Co-Founder. As our passionate and fearless leader, Steve works closely with key industry stakeholders in both Australia and the U.S. to make success in social advertising easier to achieve. Steve has a history of building leading companies in high growth markets such as social for small business. Before Tiger Pistol, Steve founded and led marketing technology company Accumulate headquartered in Australia with licensing deals in the U.S. and APAC region. He subsequently founded and lead Grass Roots Group in APAC (a subsidiary of Grass Roots Group PLC), serving multi nationals with marketing technology to drive sales growth through small business resellers. Steve was named as one of The Australian’s “Technology People To Watch” and regularly writes for a range of publications. He’s a drummer, is partial to a Pinot Noir and really likes coffee.

Troy Townsend

Co-Founder and CCO

Troy is our Co-Founder and the Chief Client Officer at Tiger Pistol, leading key client strategy and the interface between our clients and product development. Previously, he owned a digital promotions agency called Insured Creativity, working with global brands like Unilever, American Express, Expedia, and Kimberly Clark. Troy holds a bachelor’s degree from Deakin University in Melbourne. In his after-work hours, when he isn’t watching Ninja Turtles with his sons, he’s trying to find enough time to get in a run or surf.

Greg Aponte

SVP Product & Engineering

Greg is our SVP of Product & Engineering, whose team is responsible for identifying the most important challenges in doing social advertising at scale and then building those solutions into our software. He has 7+ years of creating digital marketing solutions for local businesses as an engineer, data scientist, and product leader, having most recently led Yodle’s search advertising products. Greg has a Philosophy degree from Yale University. In his free time he enjoys playing backgammon, Olympic weightlifting, and making Texas-style BBQ on his smoker.

Melissa Bryan

SVP of Growth

Melissa is our SVP of Growth, focused on driving revenue and operational efficiency across the business. She has 10+ years of relationship management, strategy and operations experience from her previous roles leading product partnerships at Yodle/ Web.com and strategy consulting at Deloitte. Melissa holds an engineering degree from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Wharton. Outside of Tiger Pistol, Melissa primarily spends her time in experimenting in the kitchen, travelling off the beaten path or spinning.

Jamie Nosworthy

GM, Australian Operations

Jaime is the General Manager of our Australian operations, with a focus on business growth and client satisfaction in the APAC region. With 10 years experience in client management and strategic marketing across a variety of industry verticals, she is passionate about finding technology solutions to maximize return for brands of all sizes. Jaime holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Winnipeg, Canada, and when not at work, you can find her planning trips to faraway places, doing yoga, and learning to surf.
